Swedish professional soccer player Kosovare Asllani began playing at a young age. Despite being born to parents with no sports background, Kosovare learned to play from her older brothers.

Raising to the top wasn’t easy for her as the town where she grew up was conservative, and it was not normal for women to engage in sports activities.

Asllani remembers even her brothers used to drive her away when she went with them to the grounds to play soccer.

Fortunately, her parents, especially her mom, Myrvete, had her back, and Kosovare pursued what her society thought was unimaginable and proved them wrong.

Nicknamed Kosse, Asllani has played for the Swedish women’s national team for over a decade.

Appearing in 170 matches for Sweden, she has scored 44 goals and contributed numerous assists.

The Swedish Football Association included Kosovare in the 23-member squad for the 2023 Women’s World Cup on June 13, 2023.

Besides her high-profile club career, Kosovare has appeared in numerous European leagues, playing for reputed clubs, including Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Kosovare Asllani currently plays for the AC Milan club of the Serie A Woman, an Italian Soccer League.

Kosovare Asllani Parents, Mom Myrvete And Father

The Swedish attacking midfielder Kosovare Asllani was born to her parents, on July 29, 1989, in Kristianstad, Sweden.

Her parents were of Kosovan Albanian descent and had migrated to Sweden before Kosovare was born.

Before her, her parents had given birth to her older siblings, including her brother, Arment Asllani.

Asllani’s dad and mom, Myrvete, had migrated to Sweden in search of better job opportunities and a promising future for their children.

After staying in Kristianstad briefly, the family moved north and relocated to Vimmerby.

Kosovare considers that it was at Vimmerby that she discovered her athletic interests. As a kid, she mostly liked playing soccer and ice hockey.

Her mom, Myrvete, was sure that her daughter would become an athlete before she was in her teens.

So, she allowed her little daughter when she accompanied her older brothers while they went out to play the game.

However, Kosovare remembers her brothers did not like when she played soccer, saying it was a boy’s game.

Of course, it hurt her, but her mom always stayed alongside her, watching her game and supporting her throughout her journey.

Kosovare often tells her mom, Myrvete, has an influential role in shaping her career, but she has not revealed much about her dad.

Sweden Beat The US To Advance Into The World Cup Quarterfinals

The Swedish women’s national team has reached the 2023 Women’s Soccer World Cup quarterfinals.

The Swedish playing XI, which included veteran athlete Kosovare Asllani, beat the tournament’s favorite United States, in the tie-breaker (5-4).

Everyone had initially thought the current No.1 team United States, would lift this year’s World Cup trophy.

However, like ominous clouds, the Swedish team arrived to shatter the USWNT’s dream.

Even though the US team under head coach Vlatko Andonovski played dominantly throughout the game, the Swedish goalkeeper Zecira Musovic’s performance outdid it all.

Sweden will now play against Japan on August 11, aiming to move a step closer to clinching the World Cup title.

After the hard-won victory against the mighty US, the Swedish side looks confident and is poised to deliver a spectacular performance against Japan.
